Company History
Mammoth-WEBCO, Inc. was formed in January 2009, as a result of WEBCO, Inc. merging into Mammoth, Inc.; both were CES Group companies. While the brand names, Mammoth® and WEBCO, remain unchanged, these two companies unite to uphold a long standing history of building innovative and quality products and satisfying customers.
Mammoth originated in 1935 as the Brown Sheet Iron and Steel Company in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. At that time, the company manufactured industrial gravity-flow and forced-air furnaces for both commercial and residential applications. From this modest beginning, the company experienced an explosive expansion during World War II, when Brown became a major supplier of large industrial furnaces.
Seeing the increasing market potential in the commercial and industrial sector, a small group of investors bought the company in 1953 and chose to focus on those lines. As the largest supplier of the largest product on the market, the company was renamed the Mammoth Furnace Company.
In 1965, the growing company became the Mammoth Division of Lear Siegler, Inc. It acquired a heat-pump manufacturing company in Holland, Michigan, and a coil manufacturing plant in New Germany, Minnesota. The St. Louis Park facility was expanded to keep pace with growing manufacturing requirements.
After 29 years in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, in 1995, Mammoth headed south to a new facility in Chaska, Minnesota. And in 2009, it made its headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. While its name and location have changed, the Mammoth brand continues to stand for leadership in quality, custom-built HVAC equipment.
WEBCO, founded in 1977 by Mr. William Eugene Bennet (retired), in Springfield, MO, was licensed by The Wing Company to sell and fabricate Wing's rooftop energy recovery packages. Since then, WEBCO has developed the expertise to design and manufacture custom air conditioning equipment that provides innovative, cost-effective solutions for some of today's most challenging air conditioning and air quality applications. WEBCO continually improves its products, incorporating the benefits of the latest developments in air moving, flow measurement, heat transfer, and controls technology. WEBCO products are often found in critical environments-automotive manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, bio-tech, food processing, and air terminals, to name a few.
Today, Mammoth-WEBCO, Inc. is a subsidiary of CES Group, Inc., and has its headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The company continues to look for new ways of serving customers. Mammoth-WEBCO will remain a leader in the highly competitive custom HVAC marketplace.
High-quality, efficient products have been the hallmark of Mammoth and WEBCO for decades and can be found throughout the world. Mammoth-WEBCO will continue to expand its production for the global market in coming years. Our goal is to offer exactly the right equipment to meet the HVAC needs of our customers around the world.
